The Safety Buoy for trained lifeguards was developed in close cooperation with lifeguards from the German and Swiss Lifesaving Association. Stowed in its own pouch or attached to equipment, it is immediately ready for use. Due to its compact size, it doesn’t disturb while swimming. The lifeguard can even dive through waves or deep water to reach a person below the water's surface. Pulling the trigger inflates the 80cm long bendable LIFEGUARD buoy within seconds. A buoyancy of 75N is provided to transport a person of any stature.
The signal colour of the buoy and a SOLAS reflector strip ensure high visibility in open water. A 1.80m long leash allows the lifeguard to swim while towing the buoy and victim back to shore. On the 3.8cm wide belt there is a buckle with an emergency release function. This allows the lifeguard to detach completely from the system with just one movement if needed for example: during a swift water rescue. LIFEGUARD is reusable by screwing in a new CO2 CARTRIDGE (16g). Lifeguards worldwide use LIFEGUARD in water and swiftwater rescues often as an additional buoyancy aid to remain flexible and respond to different scenarios.
